The Tortoise and the Hare
One sunny morning, a big crowd gathered in the forest. A special race was about to take place — the "Tortoise and the Hare" race. The two competitors were a rabbit and a tortoise. One was known for his speed, while the other was slow but determined.
The rabbit stood confidently at the starting line and said, “I’m sure to win. This race is easy for me.” The tortoise walked slowly to the start, not saying much, but with a determined look in his eyes.
The race began! The rabbit jumped forward like lightning and quickly disappeared from the tortoise’s sight. The tortoise moved slowly, step by step, but never gave up and kept going at his own pace.
After running for a while, the rabbit looked back and saw that the tortoise was still far behind. He thought, “He’s so slow. I can take a break.” So he lay down under a tree and decided to take a nap. “When I wake up, the tortoise will still be far behind,” he told himself.
But the nap lasted longer than expected. When the rabbit finally woke up, he realized he had fallen behind. He ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise had already reached the finish line and won the race.
The rabbit looked at the tortoise in surprise. The tortoise smiled and said, “Even though you are faster, if you don’t keep going, you’ll never win.”
This story teaches us: success isn’t just about talent or speed, but also about perseverance and effort. Sometimes, those who seem weak can win through determination and patience.
