Good morning, teachers and dear classmates:
It's my great honor to stand here today and share with you a topic about dreams and persistence—Chasing the Light.
We all have dreams. Some dream of becoming doctors to save lives; some dream of being engineers to build bridges; others dream of being artists to express their emotions through paintings or music. But no matter what our dreams are, they give us strength and motivation to move forward in life.
However, the road to achieving these dreams is not always smooth. There will be challenges, difficulties, and even failures along the way. It is during these tough times that we must remember why we started and keep pushing ourselves to overcome obstacles. As Winston Churchill once said, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."
Let me tell you a story. Many years ago, there was a young boy named Thomas Edison. He failed thousands of times while trying to invent the light bulb. People often laughed at him, saying he would never succeed. But he didn't give up. Instead, he kept trying until one day, he finally succeeded. His perseverance taught us an important lesson: Success belongs to those who dare to try again after failing.
So, my dear friends, when you face difficulties in pursuing your dreams, don’t lose heart. Remember that every small step brings you closer to your goal. Keep going, and one day, you'll reach the place where you belong.
Thank you for listening!
